I know, it's frustrating hey?

My parents usually take trips to minot a few times a year, but with the Canadian dollar being so lousy lately, they haven't gone in over a year.

So I'm pretty happy they're going this week!

I would love to pop over to pick up a few things, but 12,000 km is a long way!

Being as I currently reside in North Dakota and frequent Minot on a weekly basis, I can actually be helpful here!

Send your parents to the Dakota Square Mall. There they'll find Isopure at GNC, and flavored tuna at Target. I've never heard of or looked for Mr. cheese O's, but if Target normally carries them then they may be there as well. P3 packs can be bought pretty much anywhere that sells packaged lunch meats. Again, Target may have them, but if not then I know for a fact that I've seen them at Walmart.

Thanks so much! It's good to know there's a GNC at the mall. I went to GNC here today to see if they had the isopure....they didn't...but they had another similar drink the guy said tastes pretty much the same as Isopure. I bought a couple to see if I like them. If I do, my parents can get me the actual isopure when they go.

Amazing is a great resource for items. I've found most items posted in this format there. Gl

You can get tuna packets at Walmart and Target as the others have said, and any big supermarket should have them. You can also find a variety of Protein powders at Walmart, Target, and big supermarkets – just browse for a while. Usually there’s a whole section with Protein Bars and Protein Shakes, so it’s kind of fun to look. Maybe your parents can go through the store with you on the phone so you can find some good products. GNC is a dependable place for Protein Powder, but it’s a little expensive sometimes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
