Have you gotten rid of the winter season clothes ?

Recommended Posts

Personally, I will be in my winter clothes until June (springtime in the mountains = winter most everywhere else). But as I was losing I got rid of everything as I shrunk out of it because I knew I'd never need my fat clothes ever again. And if you follow the plan, by next winter you will not fit into a single thing you own now (except maybe your socks)

I keep a few heavier things around, because near the coast here in the Bay Area, it can be really chilly in the middle of summer. But I'm gleefully ditching the stuff that gets too big. I have four bags being donated today.

I am having surgery on May 17th and wonder have gotten rid of your winter clothes?

Good question. I'm putting away Winter clothes today and with not having a surgery date yet - I'm reluctant to get rid of anything.

We had frost last night. I still have flannel sheets on my bed. So, I am not quite ready to put anything away this week!

Not yet. I'm only 6 days post op, and even though I see the scale going down I'm still too afraid to throw my old winter coat away. I'll wait until maybe the fall, I'll be a few months out then and hopefully it will all be "real" to me then. I've been the same size for the last 6-7 years, it's hard for me to comprehend even the possibility of being smaller.

oh heck ya!

I live in the Sunshine state and its been in the 90s in the afternoons.

It has dipped into the 50s-60s and I don't like to be cold so I kept a couple of hoodies.

I also found a Danskin zip-up lightweight jacket that was on the clearance racket about two months ago. I thought it wouldn't fit size (12-14) had a big NSV when it not only fit, but ZIPPED over the girls with plenty of room!

I strut around in it like its a PINK LADIES jacket from Grease!

My date is May 20th, and I was just about to give away all of my winter cardigans. To me it seems so surreal that I will actually be too small for them. I'm 24, and have been big for the last 7 years.

I personally would keep some winter clothing.... a common side effect of surgery and losing weight is you feel cold! Even when its warm...

I am keeping sweaters and cardigans that are not too big, but my pants are falling down so I am getting rid of them. Like aussiegirl81, I know frequently get cold since my sleeve.

What are winter clothes? Sorry I am in Fla. shop your local goodwill or Salvation Army. You will loose so much weight so quickly there is no reason to pay full price for clothes you will only wear for a couple of weeks.

I have lost 50 lbs in 3 months. But I don't want to buy clothing until I get under 200. But I do look online. Still in the plus section old habits hard to break.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
