You look wonderful. Keep going girl. I'm seven months out too and so happy. Isn't WLS surgery just the most amazing thing. I'm loving my journey and hope that anyone who is wondering whether or not to undergo surgery just goes for it. It's the best thing that I have ever done. My fitness levels have just soared, as has my self esteem. I'm having a ball wearing clothes that are fun instead of functional and am determined to grow old disgracefully. post-266130-14632964679226_thumb.jpg post-266130-14632964859882_thumb.jpg

You look amazing. I'm getting my surgery in July and I'm really scared. I'm afraid that I may have complications with nausea and dumping syndrome and something called the "foamies". Can you tell me a little about your experience to get where you are. I can't wait to look like that!! Thanks

First of all don't think negative!!!! You got this and you're going to do wonderful. I'm so glad I did, and the joy of reviewing tons of compliments, fitting old clothes, buying new ones, and knowing you're improving your health all at the same time is everything!! Best advice I can give you is take it one day at a time, eat your Protein, drink your Water, and try not to fall into temptation. I didn't have any issues just eat slowly you're body will let you know if your choice of food is for you. Everyone is different therefore my journey will be different from yours and others.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
