Rvamom 19 Posted May 14, 2016 Sorry for posting so much but you guys are so overwhelmingly helpful!! I'm in the 2 week post op liquid phase. I can tolerate Protein Drinks. Will I lose weight faster if I try to get in a few shakes a day vs plain Water?
KristenLe 5,979 Posted May 14, 2016 @@Rvamom How much Protein did they suggest as your daily goal? I would think that if you can tolerate the Protein shake it would be beneficial to drink another one - but I would also drink as much Water (or other non-caloric drinks). You can also have sugar free popsicles, broth, de-caf tea, crystal light to get your fluids in. Good luck!
Kindle 8,667 Posted May 14, 2016 I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you saying your plan doesn't call for Protein shakes but is it OK to drink them? I'm assuming your liquid diet includes other things besides Water. On my liquid stage (and all other stages for that matter) I drank as many Protein Shakes as needed to get in 60-80g of Protein. And drank as much juice, tea, Gatorade, pedialyte, Vitamin Water, Lifewater, broth and milk as needed to get in at least 64oz of fluids. (I couldn't tolerate plain water or artificial sweeteners, so besides the herbal teas nothing I drank was no/low calorie).
