Starting my pureed food on Monday. Looking for recipes for favorites.

Recommended Posts

Very excited to be starting with pureed Foods on Monday does anybody have any favorites that they would like to share. I can't imagine what it's going to be like eating pureed foods for 4 weeks so I'm hoping maybe someone has some recipes for some stuff that tastes pretty good. Looking forward to having an egg. Never thought I'd hear myself say that!

touch down taco dip was a big fav of mine. family ate it with chips and I ate it with a fork.

1 can of refried Beans. grate a clove of garlic and a smidge of taco seasoning. I also like to add 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.

spread it in a shallow baking dish

then in a food processor, or by hand blend together 6 ounces of sour cream and half a package of cream cheese with some taco dip. when it is all blended spread on top of the Beans - add shredded mexican cheese to top it off

cook for 20 minutes or so around 350 degrees.

then I ate it just like that.

now I add salsa to the top.

*Scrambled eggs with a bit of cottage cheese mixed in to make them super moist

*Refried Beans with melted cheese and green chili sauce

*Hummus

*Guacamole

*Pureed tuna fish (yes, this was good with a dab of mustard)

*Plain Greek yogurt flavored with Protein Powder and/or Torani syrups

*Any kind of Soup I could find that didn't contain rice or noodles....pureed with unflavored Protein powder added

*I also continued with my Protein Drinks thoughout all stages as they are an easy way to help meet protein and fluid goals.< /p>

My favorite pureed food was........two scoops of Protein powder over ice and Water.......shake, stir and enjoy.

Sorry....I didn't do pureed food stage. I was scared of it. I needed the extra time on shakes to get me further away from food, in general. I need those extra weeks to simply stay the course and redefine my thoughts and responses to foods.

I had to approach it this way for my own well being. Glad I did.

@@Dub thanks for sharing. Just shows how individual every WLS journey is and how important it is to structure your plan in a way that works for you.

Roas some whole eggplants until they ate very tender. Once they are cool enough to handle scoop thw flesh into a food processor. Add a bit of mayo, salt, garlic, and lemon juice and puree it

Or

Cut up some cauliflower into small pieces. Toss with some olive oil, salt, and garlic powder. When they are fork tender and brown around the edges puree them in a food processor. While it's still warm add a wedge Or two of laughing cow cheese

YUM! I'm buying eggplant the next time I go to the store! I'm 2 1/2 years out, but gotta admit some of my favorite foods are from the pureed stage.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
