Not again! Help! Need advice!

Recommended Posts

I fail to see any negativity from anyone, myself included.

You asked: If anyone knew of a set period of time that your doctor would want you healthy for....

That is asking for responders to provide you with medical advice. You were directed to the one person who could answer the question-your doctor.

I think your being overly sensitive and asked for advice that you claimed to already know-so, not sure what you wanted or expected???

You seemed more concerned with getting a surgery than going into that surgery fully healthy. I simply tried to offer advice that you requested.

Titling your post "Help! Need advice!" And then criticizing people who took time to address your request is...., well, I'll leave that up to you to decide. :-/

I did not criticize anyone's post. I stated what I wanted in a reply post; support and I am not being over sensitive. I was looking for support, plain and simple. Please read all posts before responding. I was not more concerned with "getting a surgery than going into that surgery fully healthy" as you stated Daniel and those are very opinionated and critical words in your part. You do not know me.

Why is everyone so judgmental and picking apart everyone's post here, not just mine, but each other's as well. I think we have enough outside forces to defend ourselves against, we don't need to turn on each other.

I feel that this would be a better SUPPORT group if we would stop criticizing and reading into posts and assuming one is or isn't concerned with.

Have some people forgotten the meaning of "support group"? I thought this group was supposed to support each other before and after surgery and not ask for a diagnosis on an issue! That is why we have pc docs and surgeons. Please people !

Carol please read all post before you respond. NO one was asking for a diagnosis, just support.

Oh man that sucks! The thought of it already being post poned once and now MAYBE again!? Heartbreaking for you, I'm sure!

But you know what? It's three weeks away - if you're on good antibiotics your bronchitis could be fully cleared up in a week. Two max. With hopefully a week to spare in good health again!

So let's hope you are or get on antibiotics really quick and kick that bronchitis to the curb!

Good luck again let us know what the surgeons says

Heather. You are right. I was lucky enough to get a great Urgent Care doc who put me on medication to help me heal before surgery. Thank you for your post, support, and kind words.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
