Someone totally did not recognize me

I was at work have a conversation with one the doctors I have worked with for 4 years ( not everyday but she knows who I am) and a few minutes into the conversation she stopped said my name out load and was totally shocked it was me

That happened to me. I ran into a friend I've known for years, but probably only see 3-4 times/year. I was with another mutual friend and the two of them started chatting. She then stuck her hand out and introduced herself to me. I started laughing and told her who I was. She was shocked and a little embarrassed. She just grabbed me and gave me a big hug. Now when I run into her I always introduce myself

That's amazing! I have been working on my current job for nearly 3 years. I ran into a fellow co-worker who said they did not recognize me. I'm only 6 months out, down 73 pounds from my highest weight, 63 pounds since surgery.

A similar thing happened to me last month. I moved out of the area three months out from surgery, and went back 6 months later to visit. People in my old office did a double take. One person from an office upstairs said she just stared at me until I smiled trying to figure out who I was because I had transformed so much. I then stopped by my daughters old Girl Scout troop meeting to say hi to the girls and one who has known me for years starred at me trying to figure out if it was really me. She asked if aliens took me away because I looked so different, lol.
