Lutasha 102 Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) I suffered with lap band for about 8 years and finally decided to get it converted to RNY last year. I had the surgery July 15th, so tomorrow will be exactly 10 months. I think progress is going a little slower for me because 1) this is a conversion, and 2) I have PCOS and have historically not been able to lose weight on anything other than long term starvation. Even that wasn't working by the time I converted. As of this morning, I've lost 78 lbs and feel wonderful. I started at 275, so I'm finally comfortably in ONE-DERLAND! If you're hesitating to convert for any reason, I say DON't. Here are before and after pictures. I'm on the right, next to my sister in the before picture. KristenLe 5,979 Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Congrats - you look wonderful! I think 78lbs in 10 months is a great loss! And your body has changed so much - so the weight isn't all that counts - do you keep measurements? Edited May 14, 2016 by KristenLe

Lutasha 102 Posted May 14, 2016 I don't keep measurements. I think I was too embarrassed and ashamed to take the 'before' measurements.
Pinkgirl1234 761 Posted May 14, 2016 You look incredible!I had to take several looks...I too have PCOS and the revision is going a bit slow in the weight loss at 5 months but.I hope to achieve success like you...Congratulations!
Lutasha 102 Posted May 15, 2016 Thank you so much. It is so hard when I come to these forums and read about people losing 90lbs in 6 months. For I while it made me feel like a failure. Only recently, I've started getting comments from people about how great I look and I realize that even though the weight is coming off slowly, it's still coming off! My stretch goal is to lose 45 more lbs, but I would still be over the moon to lose 25. I haven't weighed this 'little' since 2001.
Lutasha 102 Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) Hi guys- I'm checking in again now that I'm 11 months out. I've now lost 83 lbs and am down to 192. 40 lbs to go! And I've got a consultation with a plastic surgeon in August. We probably won't do anything for a while but I want to know my options. I included a recent picture. As you can see, my abdominal area is in rough shape after 4 kids! The last two were twins that each weighed 7 lbs the day they were born! MrsJroChicago 32 Posted June 18, 2016 78 pounds in 10 months is awesome. I had my revision on May 27. I'm down about 15 pounds since. It was a little more complication and a more difficult recovery than I anticipated, but I'm so glad to have that band out. Now, if I could only get the hole from the G-tube to close, I'd be far more comfortable and happy! Keep up the good work.
