Protein, Protein, Protein

Recommended Posts

We must remember also that we all may not have had the same surgery. Kinda hard to drink a huge amount of anything when you have a tiny pouch. I am not going to force anything. Today I am trying to drink a whole shake I had some for Breakfast some for lunch and I am trying to drink more for dinner. But that made me have no room for anything else. I am to full and I have half a glass left! So unless I am going to be on a liquid shake only diet. This is not going to work for me. I want to have my Soup.< /p>

If you can have room for your "soup" then you have room for Protein Shakes which have much more Protein. I know you had bypass, but after 3 weeks you can certainly drink three shakes ins day. You just have to work at it.
I'm two weeks out and I force myself to complete one can of pure Protein Shake in a day which is 35 grm of protein. Between trying to get through that can and getting my Water in I am crazy full

So to say a person can drink 3 in a day at 3 weeks is hard to believe.

Hi everyone, I have 2 questions I'm hoping to find answers for.

1) Do I need to worry about sucralose being in my Protein Shake? I have read in a couple of places that you should find one that has none of that in it.

2) PLEASE suggest flavored waters that I can drink. I am 13 months post op and have lost 120 lbs., but I never get enough Water because I HATE drinking plain water. It would be great to find a flavored one that also has Protein. Any and all suggestions greatly needed!!

Thanks much,

Cassie

1) I don't know. What does your NUT say. What shakes are you considering? What is the protein and carb content?

2) Try crystal light, Mio drops, wylers light, Decaf tea, Herb tea, etc. If you want some protein try ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates or Syntrax Nectar.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
