So I am a little past 3 weeks post op....how much exercise should I be doing? I know nothing major like cardio and swimming....but should I be going for a 30 min walk already?

my work outs were limited to walking only for 4 weeks, but by then I was walking about 2 - 2.5 miles per day. so if you feel that ambitious it should be just fine.

If you can. I think it really depends on your physical capacity.

I couldn't have walked 30 min 3 weeks post-op, but then again, I couldn't do it pre-op either.

I didn't start any intense exercise until I was cleared to get on the pool.

My doctor only had me on limited lifting, <25lbs for the first two weeks. After that it was as much as I could take with the simple warning of let my body tell me I had enough. I starting walking in the neighborhood immediately and now I am biking, playing disc golf and walking as much as possible. To me its all part of the deal and since I have dropped quite a bit of weight already I feel very much up to it.

I would suggest you do as much as you can and get in a routine of doing it every day. Bad habits are what we are dealing with and it will take some effort and will power to make it part of your daily routine to have some exercise. I find it helps me quite a bit and has been a crucial part of keeping the weight loss steady.

I've gotten a VivoFit off of Amazon and it has been a great way to ensure that I'm actively moving. Highly affordable too in comparison to FitBit...

I have felt good, did physical activity and exercise pre-surgery but my surgeons team did not want me doing anything other than walking until week 4 post op and from weeks 4-6 light exercise (elliptical ok but no arms).

I would be sure to ask your team, lifting is a restriction they make clear as is the directive to walk, but other forms of exercise may need clarification. I know I asked at my last visit and was told need to take it easy on abdominal area that is healing.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
