Coffee during liver Diet?

Recommended Posts

I had coffee the whole time. I needed something or I would have turned into a mass murderer. I had black iced coffee.

I did.

I used then and still use now, Splenda and sometimes Stevia. I used pre-mixed vanilla or chocolate Protein shakes as the Creamer.< /p>

Sure was a great way to get past the hunger.

I didn't only because I knew I had to go cold-turkey with the caffeine for 30 days post-op and I figured it would be easier to make that transition as part of my pre-op diet. As long as you aren't putting sugar in your coffee or using sugary Creamers, you should be fine.

I broke my caffeine habit by first eliminating my diet cokes...(I use to have 2 a day).....after a week of that then I mixed half Decaf and regular coffee and had that for a week....the next week it was all decaf.....and so when my pre-op diet started I only drank decaf. During this process I only had a couple of days with a headache and since then it's been a breeze!

It depends on your doc. Mine said two cups of black coffee a day were fine. Either Decaf or caf.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
