deanna2178 88 Posted May 13, 2016 I have been sick with a upper respiratory infection for a couple of days and I'm getting worried because I am not drinking much and I am not able to get any of my Protein Shakes in because it makes my feel extremely nauseated, I have been doing good up to this point and I am thinking maybe all I can do is wait it out...any suggestions ? Dub 9,922 Posted May 13, 2016 Being dehydrated always makes me feel like crap. I couldn't imagine that crappy feeling on top of the respiratory infection. You've got to find a way to get your Water and Protein in. I wish I had a great suggestion as to how....without feeling nauseated......but I'm guessing it will be easier once you feel better and that will occur once you get your Water and Protein in. KristenLe 5,979 Posted May 13, 2016 Fluids are so important right now. Try a Protein Drink like Isopure or Unjury broth or add Protein to Water or crystal light. I would avoid anything "milky". Hope you feel better.
lsmit452 13 Posted May 16, 2016 I am 3 weeks post op and I'm getting over a terrible cold. I am fortunate because I could drink plenty of Water but not much else. But I am having trouble with my shakes because they make me nauseous too. Last week was miserable for me and I felt very anxious and lonely. I don't have any advice for you but just wanted to let you know you're not alone. Hugs! Sent from my XT1030 using the BariatricPal App
