I was wondering how much ounces of broth did y'all get in ur body the first couple day after surgery ?

I think I tried to do 4 ounces at a time only for maybe twice a day? If you are drinking it really slowly, any more than 4 ounces gets cold (and it would take me 30 minutes to an hour to get down those 4 ounces).

I'm about two days out of surgery, just came home last night. Today I've been able to get down about 40 ounces mixed with 2 tablespoons of GENEPRO medical grade Protein which means I've gotten 60 grams of Protein today! I've also been using a timer on my phone set for every 7 minutes or so. My problem hasn't been getting enough Water but drinking too fast.

It depends very heavily on how much inflammation you have in your stomach after surgery, and that's a big YMMV thing. I had no problem sipping down a bowl (6-8 oz maybe?) of broth and a half cup box of juice in a half hour or so in the hospital, whereas my wife, when she went through this, was much more restricted. Both results are within the normal window of expectations according to the doc.

If you don't have a lot of inflammation, your stomach is like a soda straw and you can sip quite a bit through there in time, while if you do have more inflammation, it's like a pinched soda straw and it will open over time as the swelling goes down.

I drink 4oz of broth for Breakfast and lunch dinner I'm 5 days post op but I don't feel full I just stop at 4 since I don't want to over eat idk if that normal

My docs told me to take 60ml every 15 minutes until I feel pressure or fullness, which has been perfection. I've got down probably 50-60oz today, and i'm on day two. I would say standing up while drinking helps, get the gas rolling out of you. You shouldn't worry too much about Protein until you start your next phase, but every doc is different. I'll be rolling into my liquid foods phase starting sunday, I cannot wait for drinkable yogurt and protein shakes!!
