Mrs. Lincoln 28 Posted May 12, 2016 I've been having some trouble knowing when I'm full at times...I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I do have one sign and I know its time to stop...I get hot and start sweating if I go any further after I feel like I'm food high or something.. Any one have the same or how do you know when your full? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App

alighterkaan 128 Posted May 12, 2016 Hiccups! I actually do hiccup once I'm full. I think the big thing is slowing down when you eat, but don't eat for more than 30 minutes at a time.
Sharon1964 2,530 Posted May 12, 2016 I don't eat until I'm full. I eat until I've eaten the amount I'm supposed to, which is what I've already measured out onto my plate.
Mrs. Lincoln 28 Posted May 12, 2016 (edited) Hiccups! I actually do hiccup once I'm full. I think the big thing is slowing down when you eat, but don't eat for more than 30 minutes at a time. I've been trying the whole 30 minute thing..which I struggle with cause I've always ate really slow even pre surgery..I do weigh my food out for the most part...and do stop when I think I'm full (aka sweaty!) bellaleen 1 Posted May 12, 2016 Do you ever feel like a sharp pain in the middle of your chest? This happened this morning when I tried eating my Breakfast (first day of puréed foods). I did use a stopwatch for my lunch and would take little bits ever 3-4 minutes. I didn't get that crushing feeling...idk lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I've gotten that sharp pain maybe a handful of time. It is usually when I eat something dry and it gets stuck. As for when I was on pureed foods I had a lot of trouble..i could hardly drink or eat the sleeve definitely did its job..I could barely eat 1/4 c of anything... I got sick at week 4 and was basically on liquids for 2 months after that....so I didn't get to have solids till month 3...I was told no restrictions.. So I'm kinda scared I don't wanna over eat... Christinamo7 4,042 Posted May 12, 2016 I used to get burpy or hiccup, so now I measure out way less food and learned to eat even slower. sometimes my nose will get drippy.
bellaleen 1 Posted May 12, 2016 Omgosh I seriously can't see myself going back on liquids. The smell of my premier Protein shakes is giving me goosebumps. Sorry you got sick girl...this surgery is so unpredictable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...I've yet to even puke lol (I HATE throwing up). In the beginning did you burp every time you drank liquids? Everything but ice Water makes me burp and it's so embarrassing... Mrs. Lincoln 28 Posted May 12, 2016 I used to get burpy or hiccup, so now I measure out way less food and learned to eat even slower. sometimes my nose will get drippy.I guess I'm really just trying to figure my body out.. I've been on solids for a month and a half...still learning...I do get burpy sometimes too...never had a drippy nose unless my food was spicy???? Daisee68 2,493 Posted May 12, 2016 It seems to be different for everyone. Sometimes I get hiccups. Sometimes I burp. Sometimes I get a runny nose. But mostly I just try to stop when I start to feel a little pressure just below my breasts. NOT sharp pain (that is too far). Just a tiny bit of pressure. I too had complications early on (stricture), so I progressed with foods slower as you did @@Mrs. Lincoln so I understand the hesitancy. Best thing you can do is measure it out and stick to the 30 minute max rule. In the beginning, I stopped after 20 minutes. You will learn. I promise. it just takes time to understand the new feelings (and frankly a little trial and error of going too far will keep you from doin it in the future - sometimes - I did it again just last week and I am 11 months post-op....) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I know it was hard..but at that point I was so worried about getting better.. food was the last thing on my mind..they basically gave me a lot of my nutrients via ivy..advice from me to you is listen yo your body..if something doesn't feel right..go to ur surgeon! And as far as the burping thing..oh my goodness yes sometimes I'll burp all day long almost feels like I'm forcing it but it has to come out right! Lol!!! Thank you so much!! And I will try harder on the 30 min max rule...I think that's why I feel like maybe I'm eating too much...I go past 30.. maybe 45 minutes at times..???? Mystique2015 11 Posted May 12, 2016 I literally feel full and satisfied.. Was a learning process to pinpoint the exact feeling for me though. But I am a pro at it now
