I've noticed that with all the different directions, the main goal is that we, as the patients, are doing the surgery for the right reasons. Not JUST to look smaller, but to be healthy. I can't imagine them not letting you have the surgery because you didn't lose enough weight but maybe it has happened. I have the type that required the six month nutritional plan as well and was 286 at the time of the first class in July of last year (2015) and when I had the surgery, I was 277 so only 11 pounds down. They also didn't make me do a preop liquid diet. That would have been horrible I think. Either way, if you're heading in the right direction, that's good.
