OMAChiver 44 Posted December 6, 2016 Wow!! Sounds like you are doing AWESOME!!! Congratulations on being so close to your goal!! With regards to eating, I completely understand how easy it is to get sidetracked and not eat until after noon. I actually set alarms on my Fitbit for meal times. This accomplishes two things. First, it helps me remember to eat. Second it keeps my eating evenly spaced so that I'm fueling my body consistently throughout the day for better nutrition absorption. As far as the food itself is concerned, I'm pretty basic, so I don't have much to share as far as meals or recipes. I primarily eat chicken. I found that shredded chicken was best to start with for my stomach. I made shredded taco chicken meat a LOT until I was able to get the "chewing to a pulp" routine down. So, shredded taco chicken topped with a little fat free sour cream and mild salsa. Now, I look for marinades that have less than 5g of sugar per serving, cut up 2-3 pounds of chicken breast, marinate and cook it in the marinade. Drain the excess marinade and box in 2 oz quantities for lunches and dinners. I add steamed veggies to round things out. I like making chicken fajitas, I don't eat tortillas, just the filling. But, I like the chicken/bell pepper/onion combo. My standard day consists of 1) Protein shake and Vitamins, 2) beef/turkey Jerky, 3) chicken and veggies, 4) Protein Shake, 5) salmon/chicken/steak/turkey and veggies. Again, congratulations on the amazing progress you have made!! VSG is an amazing tool if the patient commits to the lifestyle change and it sounds like you have!! Keep up the awesome work!!! csquaredmom 8 Posted December 20, 2016 Hello! I had RNY on October 22, 2016. Best choice I could have ever made. I'm having a bit of a bumpy time - food and I often fight. But, I'm learning - food is usually right and I'm usually wrong (too much, too fast, etc.). Protein is the hardest for me to fit in - and I'm learning to get really creative. I'm down 63 lbs since surgery (84 since first weigh in) - and the feeling of being able to do things is incredible. I need my Christmas present (FitBit 2) so I can remind myself to eat - and stay on schedule! Good luck!
