Stillmissing 35 Posted May 13, 2016 I had some very close people in my life try to talk me out of it. I simply said that they didn't have to live in my body, that this wasn't a hasty decision, I have the support of my family and it was MY decision. Everyone's experience is different and just because it didn't go well for one person doesn't mean it will go badly for you. This is a decision that could potentially save your life. It is time to be selfish. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
texasgirl51 2 Posted May 14, 2016 There are always a potential for complications with any surgery! You do the research, write any concerns you have down and ask your MD about them. You have to keep in mind that people that aren't having this type of surgery always look at the down side. You need to do what is best for you. I am almost 1 yr post-op any look at my weight loss as positive. I don't take blood pressure medicine anymore( from 2 days after surgery). My joints don't hurt and I can walk my dogs without getting winded. I have lost 80 lbs with just following what my Dr tells me. I am more active now than I have been in 10 yrs. Think positive and think about You! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
