toastedink 115 Posted May 10, 2016 So I do a hard core workout 3 times a week. Of course now I am super super hungry after. I've been told this is normal of course, but how do you handle it when your belly can only tolerate so much?
BigViffer 3,544 Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) If you are doing seriously hardcore workouts, there may need to be some planning to go along with it. You will need something that is nutrient as well calorie dense. Also, do not fear good carbs prior to working out. 20 minutes prior to your workout, carb load with oats or shredded wheat. Not instant oats though, steel cut are a better choice. Post workout, I would recommend something higher in Protein and fat. Ah! I said that scary word didn't I? Don't worry, in this instance fat is being used exactly as it is supposed to be used. A higher calorie storage of energy. Peanut Butter mixed in with plain yogurt will give you the Protein and fat you need to fuel and recovery from exercise. There is also tuna with mashed avocado for a health fat/protein combo. Good on you for working hard! Edited May 10, 2016 by BigViffer
toastedink 115 Posted May 10, 2016 See I'm a DS patient, so the fat thing doesn't scare me at all. But yes, thank you kindly for the advice. I shall follow it immediately. I know I'm supposed to do small meals but damn... The hunger has been craaaaaazy. And thanks! It's been hard because my body fat is down quite a bit but the pounds have remained the same. I know this is due to muscle build... But it's still frustrating. On the upside, I can run for an extended period of time and that is new for me.
