Hip 0 Posted August 13, 2007 I was down 35 lbs at one point and bounced back up 4 the next day. Water weight I am assuming? Thats was 6 days ago and I havnt lost a pound since. I havnt even had 1000 calories a day!!!! 2 weeks out this coming Tuesday. Did this happen to you guys and then the weight starts coming off? Oh...and I can eat 6-8 oz of feed and still not feel full. I know that I dont have a fill yet but what is the food just falling through the hole?? Frustration is not even close.......
RN2be2008 0 Posted August 13, 2007 I know exactly what you are talking about. I am going through the same thing myself. I was losing weight like crazy in the beginning and now the scale hasn't budged in like a week. I feel ya!
HuggyBear 0 Posted August 13, 2007 Hip, I'm sure it's more than frustrating. One thing I do is to weigh myself just after I get up so the circumstances are the same from day to day. Are you still on liquids? What are you eating/drinking? For myself, I've found that it is critical. In the beginning, I had to reset my metabolism and now as long as I eat the right things (& avoid the wrong ones), exercise and take my nutritional supplements my weight continues dropping. This is without the hunger and cravings I used to have when I dieted. Huggy

I eat around 6-8 oz at a a meal 3 times a day. Fluids and a small fugar free-fat free snack in between. Been sipping protien but not as much as I should. Its been 2 hours since Breakfast and if I didnt have will power I could easily eat right now. I know I could EASILY eat more at meals too but I am trying not to. Hip 0 Posted August 13, 2007 Im a bit depressed about this and no motivation to exercise! I know that is only hurting my cause. SO frustrated because I dont go in for a fill for another 4 weeks and I have the large band and Im sure 1 fill isnt going to do much. Geez this sucks! RN2be2008 0 Posted August 13, 2007 I know how frustrating this is but stay motivated, this is what is known as Bandster Hell and they were not kidding. I feel ya but as long as we make good decisions, exercise, and stay motivated we will succeed I have faith. Good Luck!

kreich 0 Posted August 13, 2007 Are you waiting the 20-30 min. before and after you eat? From what I understand, the liguid literally DOES make the food go down faster. This is especially difficult for me, esp. when I eat chicken salad or things with much salt content- you just get thirsty! I read some saying 2-3 fills before filling satiated w/ 3-6 oz. food. Wow! I just wish I had known, so I would not have told everyone around me that I was getting the surgery, because now I get looks/comments, and I KNOW they are wondering "where is the weight loss she was supposed to have with this big, $$ surgery?" Know what I mean?

Know what I mean? I KNOW EXACTLEY what you mean. Teachers I work with think I am gonna be all thin when I go back in September...Im thinking 1 month? No. I lost 30 so everyone around me is like man you are gonna be thin by Winter! Im like NOOOOOOOOOO...this takes a long time...it still gets discouraging. I have been sipping and I think too much Soup. Gonna focus on protiens and see how this week goes.
RN2be2008 0 Posted August 13, 2007 It's like you all are reading my mind! My sister keeps telling me OMG your going to lose X amount of weight by X time. I have to explain to everyone who says that that this fast weight loss is temporary and it will slow down. It gets annoying explaining how the band works to everyone who makes a comment like that. Ugh I wish I hadn't told anyone except my immediate family. Hip: That is what we are here for, encouragement. Your going to ride your bike later, that is a good idea maybe I will do the same. Hip 0 Posted August 13, 2007 I went outside and washed my boat and my Jeep. I cleaned the inside of my Jeep and put these scuff guards in the door jambs that I had since winter...LOL. I cleaned 4 huge pots that I cooked crabs and Spaghetti with outside. They only sat for a month...LOL. Im trying to keep going. Its HOT outside! Im gonna go back out after a little brake and do some more stuff to my boat. I NEED to keep busy! Im still not hungry so thats a good sign :faint:
Fort Bend Band 0 Posted August 13, 2007 My doctor told me all along that 4-5 pounds a month is considered good. I do not always loose my 5 pounds for each month and it is very frustrating! I have learned that fills are the key. If you can eat too much or feel too hungry it is time for a fill. I had my third fill last week and finally feel the restriction I have needed and do not feel hungry except around meal times. Try and hang in there and do not expect too much too fast. My friend had the gastric bypass the same time I got the band. She has lost 100 pounds now and I have just lost 15. I try to remind myself that this is going to be an ongoing process and to not beat myself up about the weight loss. I know that you do feel pressured with everyone looking at you but remind yourself that this is about you and not about them!
kreich 0 Posted August 13, 2007 Thank you all- I am encouraged after reading your thoughts, and feel better knowing many are like me. It makes me want to start with new determination. Tommorow I am going to start an additional walking program, and I get my first fill today. I will not "bank" too much on it, just keep looking for the future.
