Ok so I began my day wirh a few sips of Protein Drink. I swore I was just going to do liquids since i get so full quickly. By lunch time i felt hungray - at least thought I was. I ate my first mashed potatoes. It went pretty good but , then i was full. I instantly felt guilty for eating. Then when i got home I was like I guess ill eat. Just because ! I could only eat a few bites. I was full. I saved my dinner. Two hours later I thought I felt hungary so i finished what I started. Now im disgusted with myself! I feel so sick because of being so full. I keep messing up. I don't know why am I doing this ! Im so upset wirh myself.

I am confused. What phase are you on?

Why would you feel guilty for eating if you are hungry? We are actually supposed to eat in order to live and be healthy.

Mashed potatoes may not have been a great choice, especially if you are still on liquids, but self-hatred, disgust, and guilt are not helpful.

Do you have a counselor or therapist you can talk to about your feelings?

Just focus on getting in your Protein and fluids. If you feel like you must eat mashed potatoes, then try adding some Protein (unflavored Protein powder, chicken Soup Protein Powder, or even grated/melted cheese would add protein).

As I seem to do often, I'm gonna agree with @@Inner Surfer Girl again...

If you focus on your Protein and Water, the rest 'should' fall into place...

There are gonna be hiccups along the way..

We all had/have them...

Even me...

And I'm AWESOME!!!

So don't be too hard on yourself...

You'll get your head around stuff soon...

Let us know how you go...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
