nursejenny07 401 Posted May 9, 2016 I need to have labs done pre op (CBC & BMP) and also an EKG. My surgeon recommends going through your PCP. How did this work? Did insurance cover it at all? I'll be due for my 2 year post op sleeve labs anyway, which I believe will include the blood work, but I'm not sure how to go about getting the EKG ordered! Just curious what others did! Thanks!! kaitlynm 335 Posted May 10, 2016 I think most PCP Doc's can do an EKG in their office. You should just need to tell them that your surgeon is requesting it. I had one done at the hospital the week before surgery as part of the pre admission process. My insurance covered all of it.
KristenLe 5,979 Posted May 10, 2016 Your PCP should be able to do EKG. Just tell them you need surgical clearance. It should be covered.
JamieLogical 8,713 Posted May 10, 2016 My PCP did mine along with all my other labs prior to my plastics and it was covered by insurance.
