Andrea72 510 Posted May 9, 2016 I don't have any questions, just need to be honest and be held accountable. What better way to do that than to share with you guys and gals. Let a rough day get to me that ended up in me buying a slice of chocolate cake. Being six weeks post op, thankfully my sleeve stopped me after just a few bites, but I am so disappointed in myself. I just can't believe I let myself get to that point and I really hope it doesn't continue.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted May 9, 2016 We all make mistakes. Being honest with yourself (and us) is a great step. We all have to learn and practice new habits, attitudes, and skills. I bet the cake didn't taste nearly as good as you thought it would. I just hope it doesn't make you sick. (Just the thought of all that sugar makes me a little ill.) Next time, try reaching out to us before you take the first bite.
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted May 9, 2016 I am proud of you for stopping - for reaching out and for reminding yourself what you want. Those are all good signs! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
KindaFamiliar 3,867 Posted May 9, 2016 I gotta agree with the ladies before me... Ok, so you had some cake... We all screw up... Our brains are pretty smart at tricking us... But you've acknowledged it and made yourself accountable for it... The next step is to not beat yourself up about it... And, as @@Inner Surfer Girl says... Come in here any time you feel like you're gonna cave... There's always someone to kick your arse if you need it...
Andrea72 510 Posted May 9, 2016 @@Inner Surfer Girl it wasn't. After the 3rd bite, I fell hard back into reality. I hate to waste food, but I didn't think twice about tossing it in the trash. And thanks @@Christinamo7 and @@KindaFamiliar I'm very upset with myself but I'm glad to know I have the support on here, instead of the judgement that I would receive in the outside world.
