Omg Ashleymuddah. I want to apologize for the comments you received. You are 100% correct this is about support and if you are doing the wrong thing then it could be said in a different and more understanding manner. I have not had my surgery yet so I cannot answer your question but no one on this site, should be spoken to as you. I wish you luck and please share what the outcome is from your Dr. Appt.. Its responses like you received that discourage people from posting and I wish you nothing but the best. Kindle had some good reasons but his delivery lacked and Stacy's comment is just obnoxious and disheartening. So Ashleymuddah I wish you the best of luck and I look forward to getting through this together.

Thank you so much!! I spoke with the nutritionist this Morning and she gave me some great advice! I switched back to the bariatric shakes and lots of G2. She even said If I use my fine strainer I can have broccoli and cheddar soup' I had a much better say today. Thank you for the kind words and positivity @@jenetts

I was sleeved on 5/3, I have been sticking to the liquid diet and I haven't been able to make my Protein or my Water for that matter. I am never hungry and feel full very quickly. The NP called today to check in with me and she said I had the option of adding cottage cheese, yogurt, and egg whites in to my diet if I wanted. I was to nervous to try though :/ I totally understand being over the shakes though lol! I hope things get better for you.

I was sleeved the same day and am looking forward to hearing I can eat eggs. So over shakes already. They're fine to use intermittently but exclusively notsomuch :)

My follow up appt is tomorrow, so here's hoping ...

I too had a hard time on my first week... The shakes started to make me sick or maybe I was just sick of them... I do remember that I was very depressed in my first week... I cried a lot, asking myself if I did the right thing and if this is all I'm supposed to eat for the rest of my life.... Thank Goodness my Bariatrician only had me on liquid diet for a week....then on soft foods up to the 4th week... Just remember that you're doing this for a reason... To get healthier, we have to make little sacrifices.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
