When I had my surgery that pain lasted for three weeks. At my two week follow up the surgeon said some people can experience pain for 3-4 weeks depending on several factors. By the next week, week three, my pain was gone.

I also have a high tolerance for pain and only used pain meds 2 days after getting home.

Based on my experience, you're still in the "normal" window. If it persists past week three, I'd discuss it with your surgeon.

Hope this helps.

Daniel

Hi! Most of my pain was on the left side! It lasted 4 weeks. I couldn't lay down. I had to sleep in my recliner. I didn't have much energy but walking really did help if I moved a little every hour. I am 3 months out and now my surgeon thinks I'm going to need my Gallbladder out. I go for an ultrasound tomorrow. Yippee. More incisions and another surgery. :( Anyways, I was not the typical. My pain I would describe as cramping and uncomfortable. It gets better. Hang in there.
