The appointment consisted of a medical history, I got my height and weight taken, I met with the nurse practitioner, then the dietitian and she gave me a booklet about how to measure food intake and how much is a good amount to eat. I also got some of my tests done today I got my lab work done, an ekg done, and a xray of my chest done. I have to get sn ultrasound of my veins in my legs on May 4th. My psychological appointment has already been scheduled for July 20th. . now all I have to do is a sleep study and a abdominal ultrasound and do the last two weight management classes and I should be all set my surgeon told me that if I get all my testing done I should be getting surgery in the beginning of August CAN'T WAIT

Update: my labs were all normal I'm at a slight risk for diabetes, but all of my other labs were normal. My ekg and chest xray were all normal. The ultrasound of my legs was normal as well no blood clots. So now I go for my upper GI swallow on may 11 and I do my sleep study on June 27th

@@music_lover0721 Fantastic!! We wish you the best of luck. It doesn't hurt now to try to find Protein shakes that you like since you will need them after the surgery. Check out a few blogs (I can't remember the first one from a guy on here. His name is something like Jim Marsek (but that's not quite right) and also theworldaccordingtoeggface.com ) -- these will give you some good info that you can use for the next several years if not for life. Start keeping food journals to get used to that and also to see how you are currently eating, even if you don't change your eating habits right now.

I wish you all the success in the world!! And keep us posted.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
