I'm just so down about having this surgery and it has been a battle since I've gotten it. They had to go back in because of scar tissue build up that kept me from keeping even Water down. Now they want me to be on puree foods and I'm finding it hard to get in what they ask me too. I think I made a huge mistake and I'm very unhappy and tired of throwing up!

I can really appreciate how you feel. After my RNY I threw up for 3 months each time I ate something. It turns out the pouch was very tight so he went in and loosened it, and Wa-La, the barfing stopped. Don't feel bad or have regrets, it does get better, It really does. Keeping good thoughts for you!!

I'm 14 months out and it's been a huge struggle, 3 restrictions with dilatation. It gets better. I'm finally stronger and eating little more. I was under weight for couple months but I gain 5 lbs that puts me on a normal weight. Some days it's hard but you can do it. Just keep focusing on your health.

What was causing your restriction

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
