findingnish 39 Posted May 7, 2016 I'm 10 days post op and I hated the pre op diet. I cheated a few times and my liver was fine. If u absolutely have to eat, then try a lean piece of chicken. Try your best to do as ur surgeon instructed...it's worth it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App OK thanks how many days did you cheat? beylove 22 Posted May 7, 2016 More than u said u did I was fine all day at work, but when I got home, I was starving! I definitely don't suggest cheating tho. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
shamale 54 Posted May 8, 2016 I cheated 3 x but chose a small piece of chicken breast instead of oily greasy stuff. I felt bad about it but I'm resetting myself at this point. My pre op diet was originally for 1 week but my surgery was moved to this week. Thinking positive thoughts Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

But definitely best to fight through it.

Read2016 658 Posted May 8, 2016 My surgeon doesn't require a post op liquid diet but he does require weight loss prior to surgery... This is a hard journey and long term obesity isn't easy either... Just try to remind yourself why your doing it... Don't beat yourself up. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
shamale 54 Posted May 8, 2016 @ how does your surgeon determine how much you need to lose? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Read2016 658 Posted May 8, 2016 During the brief conversation I had when I met him at the seminar, he said we will work together to figure that out when we meet. My guess would be it would be like 5- 10 % of current weight... I'm great at loosing weight, it's keeping it off that's my problem. jane13 2,256 Posted May 9, 2016 I wasn't required to lose a specific amount of weight obviously it depends on the doctor and their plans. I still had to do a pre-op type diet and 24hrs before was Clear liquids until 6pm. The pre-op is NOT easy but it is done for a reason. IMHO - the doctors have been educated and skilled in their professions. If they tell you something you should do it, for a safe surgery and hopefully an easy recovery. Get back on track NOW and stay true~
