And down a solid 40lbs! It doesn't seem real. The last time I weighed this amount I had starved myself and worked out 4x week for at least 1.5 hours. Only to gain it back. Unfortunately I had an ankle injury 5 days post op. Good news, 40lbs with ZERO work out haha. Next week I am cleared for all levels of weight training so that will change. My most difficult part is adjusting to portion size, and not drinking Water so soon after I eat.

FYI: telling no one about surgery. My line is "hypnosis and acupuncture". Sell it baby!

Hypnosis and acupuncture. My god. I love it. I'm going to start practicing saying it in the mirror with a straight face right now. This is the best response I've ever heard- YOU WIN. :)

Honestly the first couple of weeks I just tried to drink the shakes and crystal lite to get as much Fluid and Protein as possible. Probably didn't hit the goal of 60+ grams per day. On mushies I ate anything that sounded good. Chilli, retried Beans, bbq beef or chicken that is suuuuper soft. And Protein Bars. I haven't avoided carbs etc. if it sounds goods good and it's soft enough I eat it. I have no problem with sugar etc it appears. Good or bad, this is my journey.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
