LadyWarren 57 Posted May 4, 2016 I went in for my consultation on 1/20/16. My surgery is on 5/12/16. I could have had surgery in April but I needed to finish some things first. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted May 4, 2016 look, I think most of us had a few little food parties - but the truth is the better you eat now - the more veg and nutritious food you have, the better your body will be prepared to recover from what is major surgery, so just keep that in the back of your mind! oceangirlpc 68 Posted May 4, 2016 mine is being reviewed by insurance right now!!!! i started process from July 2015 waited 6mo insurance wait. During that time had to get classes in and testing. After that referred to surgeons office waited for consultation and other pre necessary testing. Tomorrow is endoscopy for the surgeons own purpose. I am hoping to get June 15th surgery if approved. This will be a total of 11 mo. Some people sooner, some later it all depends on each. Good luck to you. I'm excited.

kmorri 1,689 Posted May 4, 2016 Luckily my insurance didn't have a requirement for a supervised diet....so I got through my process in 2 months. Basically it all depends on your insurance requirements as to how long the process takes.....Good luck to you!!!
shamale 54 Posted May 5, 2016 7 months and that's only because I wanted to make sure this is what I wanted to do. I was initially offered a surgery date within 4 months. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Chicken Lady 102 Posted May 13, 2016 I had a 6 month insurance "phase 1" that required 12 visits to Nut, 12 PT visits & 12 psych visits. THEN got to meet surgical team to start their testing. Found h pylori on EGD so had to wait 3 months to be sure that was resolved. I have my final test review with the surgeon in 2 weeks. They told me that at their center, most people take about a year start to finish. ... Waiting... Waiting...
