15 days post op, tired and weight stall..advise?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I had the sleeve 15 days ago and have lost 18 pounds. I think I'm doing everything as direcited. I'm pretty tired and have not lost anything for 2 days. Any advice out there?

You're hitting your first stall - totally normal and will happen many more times over the next months/year. I'm still shocked at how no doctor tells folks about this. ;)

You are right on schedule for your first stall.

As to being tired, you just had major surgery and are still healing. Focus on getting in your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins, and be gentle with yourself. You are allowed to rest!

For me the fatigue lasted until I was cleared for solid foods and could get my calories up. As for the stall, that's perfectly normal and could last as little as a few days or as much as a few weeks. You shouldn't be worrying about weight loss right now. You should be focusing on healing, getting your Protein, Water, and Vitamins in, and getting up and moving around a little every hour or two.

There are two things you're gonna need to remember and be very cognoscente of during your weight loss journey.

1. You will encounter "Stalls" (several) - periods of time where no matter what you do, you are unable to lose another ounce. (could be a couple of days or a couple of weeks)

2. Firmly remind yourself constantly of the weight you have already lost, what you have gone thru and the effort it took to lose it, and as long as you continue that effort, you WILL resume losing weight.

That's it.......that's how you deal with stalls. Everybody gets them and if you follow this mantra, you will get past them everytime. ;)

sleep, drink as much as you can, and stay off the scale. Measure your loss by how your pants fit. Take pictures of yourself in a doorway wearing the exact same outfit so you can get a good perspective on how you look. Side, front, back. I suggest leggings and a tank top.

That's far more important than the number on the scale.< /p>

Im 16 days out. I have no energy as well. I measure myself on Sundays and weigh myself on Mondays. I probably will space it out to not get myself upset if i do stall. Down 30 lbs but cant tolerate much puréed foods.

If you are following your program and getting in all of your protein and fluids then you aren't doing anything wrong, except possibly having unrealistic expectations.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
