9 month surgiversary/so close to 100lbs down

Recommended Posts

Yesterday was my 9 month surgiversary. I cannot believe how close I am to being down 100lbs since the month before surgery. This weight loss includes my preop. The scale finally moved, down 2 lbs today. I bet I could eat the same thing exactly as I did yesterday and would not lose an ounce, that is what is so weird about this journey, no rhyme or reason, like I have written about before. Not complaining, still very grateful for my sleeve, and it still amazes me. I just cannot wait until I lose the other 6lbs to have reached that 100lb goal. I see my doc the 12th and would love to be able to show him that. I gave myself 1 year to lose that 100lbs, so there is still time. Hope everyone is doing good.

Great job! I'm sure that last 6 pounds will come off soon enough. IMho the closer you are to a goal, the slower your metabolism works. At least it always seems that way in my experience.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
