Maybe it's a little weird, but the one thing I can't wait to throw away is my old winter coat!! It's not even fit to pass along to someone else as it has tears on the inside. I've had it about the last eight or nine years and it is huge and bulky.

Yes!! I am SO looking forward to getting a slim fitting winter coat! Anything warm enough for our NH weather has to have a little bulk to it (even the more expensive materials from LL Bean or Lands End are bulky when you have to buy it in a size 3x!).

I always feel like I'm walking like a sumo wrestler when I wear mine :D I have a couple smaller sizes in the closet I hope to use to get me through next Winter since I'll only be a few months post-op, but when I get close to my goal I will SO be buying a nice, flattering coat.

I also have this really cute pair of knee high boots that I just bought, but I don't really have any outfits that go well with them. They'd go really well with a knee or ankle length dress, but with my body shape dresses haven't been in my closet since I was a teenager. I really hope to be able to change that!

I love shopping and it's typically what I do on weekends. The past few months it's been super hard to get out of the habit of shopping and not buying anything new that fits right now.

And oddly enough, I'm a little sad to part with some of the expensive, cute clothes I have now.

But! Yess I'm crazy excited to get the clothes I want and look the way I've always wanted to look in them :D

The first thing I want to get rid of is my old lady granny panties :-) The second thing I am going to do is buy knee boots. My leg has only fit in a knee boot once in my ENTIRE LIFE! And why have I have been online looking at evening wear for a month now??? I don't even have any formal events to go to in the near future. I think I keep looking because I'm thinking back to all of the events and parties I've gone to over the years where I have felt like the largest/least attractive person in the room and had to settle on wearing a dress that "covers everything up". I don't want to be that person anymore and yet it is hard to wrap my head around the fact that I am having the VSG on Monday. Pre-op diet is slowly killing me but the clothing websites and department stores are keeping me going :-) )

I just dream about the day I can wear whatever I want..when I don't have to worry about if a top is long enough to cover my drooping stomach skin

As soon as the clothes started to not fit I purged my closet. I looked at them and put anything that was still in good condition in a pile to be donated. Anything that was ripped or torn/stained (and probably should've been tossed long ago) I tossed. I had TONS of clothes to donate. I went through my closet, my bureau's, and anywhere else I had clothes.

I did wear stuff until I absolutely had to buy new clothes. Luckily (?) for me I had clothes in my closet that I could wear going down sizes. I did supplement with some new(newish) things.

I have been really choosy about what I'm letting into my wardrobe. Because I am not at goal and would like to lose another 24+ lbs, I am not going crazy with buying clothes. I have splurged and bought myself some new T-shirts from Life Is Good, and some new pajamas. I also bought some jeans, all new underwear, a couple of bra's, and socks.

I need to go through and purge my wardrobe again. I just don't need as many clothes as I thought. I like the idea of eventually getting a capsule wardrobe for work.

I also refuse to pay full price for stuff and one of the biggest benefits of being smaller is that I can find stuff on sale! Before - at size 22/22W the only things usually left on sale were fugly (to me anyway!). I am amazed at the cute things I can find now.

I love the part about walking like a sumo wrestler! Yes! that is exactly what it is like! I'm just a little further north than you are, I'm in New Brunswick, Canada, and the winters are hard. My huge 3XL coat is bulky and comes down to about the middle of my thighs. I can't wait to buy a new coat that can sit comfortably at my waist. I'm going to have a waist!!!

@@Margie122 - I do the same thing. I purge and look for things that are marked down in the newer size and about three to four months later I purge them. That's the best NSVs as the inches go bye bye.

Just wait until your dream clothing becomes your real clothing...life gets expensive, lol. I still love scrolling through clothing stores on my phone and wandering around stores looking at clothes, except now they all fit me, and they look good, and my credit card is sad, lol.

I have! I've been dreaming of wearing cut off shorts, converse and a band t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up! Lol. Oh and a tight red dress with cleavage and 6" stilettos! Can't wait!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
