I need to shop for a few things- I'm about a month post-op. I'm not quite ready for Forever 21 lol but I don't fit into Lane Bryant much anymore. I went from a 20 to a 14/16 pretty quickly. Plus i don't want to spend a lot since I plan to keep losing and don't want to invest in good clothes just get. Where are you all shopping these days?

Goodwill - especially their half off or 99 cent days.

A lot of UNWORN clothes there that people bought and didn't fit. I will be shopping some clearance sales as the seasons change - and there are a few staples I will keep buying as regular in smaller sizes because I know they will fit a longer time (yoga pants and such that are forgiving and will cover a wider size range)

Thankfully I am good with the sewing machine, so I can also alter a little bit. but it is clearly time to measure for new bras. I will pick them up at TJ Maxx as soon as I can get some help with the measuring.

ill fit a longer time (yoga pants and such that are forgiving and will cover a wider size range)

Great suggestions! I'll have to check out the good will. I just have to be in the mood for that. Maybe Macy's on a clearance sale is a good idea too.

Definitely need a smaller bra and that's not such a bad thing!

Just make sure you buy only what will get you by during this phase. I spent a good bit of money on clothes that fit me for less than a month. Marshalls was great for me

To be honest... I tried shopping at goodwill. I became overwhelmed with the over packed racks. I couldn't find much But I did end up buying buy 2 shirts and a dress.

I went to Jc penny's and kohls. I got a pair of nice shorts, cropped pants and 3 shirts. Mix and match I have a couple different nice outfits.

Watch for coupons and the sales, buy what makes you feel good.

I hit a couple consignment stores with a friend last weekend and came away with a pair of pants, a sweater, and two shirts for less than the pair of pants would have cost new. Score!

Forever21, Charlotte Russe, Target, Macy's, eBay, Nordstrom Rack, and Off 5th.

I got a dress from Forever21 for 14.95. If I wear it twice it's paid for. I got coffee in the airport and it was $6.

The time trying on clothes, costs more than the clothes.

Poshmark.com is a great way to get clothes discounted once you know a brand and size. Basically an online consignment shop

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
