Feeling discouraged

Hey everyone,

I am feeling very discouraged....I am four days post op and have bad pains in my chest. I feel very tight and now wondering if this is how I will feel forever. I had the lapband and heria repair. My chest is really hurtin me. What do I do? When will this go away?

Sweet sounds like it's time to call the clinic and review all this with someone. That's what they are there for - good luck - no time to get discouraged now.

Hi Sweetforlife, I too had a h. hernia repaired when I was banded. I had chest pain also and was tight. It went away with in a week. I would contact my dctr just to be safe. It's scary.. I'm interested in other responses.. Good luck.

I had the same pain, and I also had a hernia repair. Just to be safe I would talk to one of the nurses at the clinic.

From what I rember being told that tightness was caused by the hernia repair and it did go away.

Stay positive, there are bound to be some bumps along the way but overall the experience is a great one.

Thanks for your support...I did talk to Dr. Cobourn last night. He did advise me that the swelling from the hernia repair was the cause. I was really scared last night as the gas pain, port sorness, and tighness was hitting me all at once causing me to panick. When my hubby came home I had taken codine, had three Water bottles all over with pillows everywhere...lol...it was a sight to see...take care.

While knowing the reason for the pains doesn't make it hurt less, at least you have a reason and know it will gradually subside. Take it one day at a time and hang in there.
