I'm four weeks out. I've been trying to decrease my reliance on Protein drinks and increase soft food intake. But now it is becoming harder to get anything down. two weeks ago, I could easily drink a Protein Drink. Now it seems to sit in my chest after every sip. So now I'm having trouble getting in all my Water and Protein. I would have thought that this would go the other way around as I heal. Could I be experiencing blockage or will this also pass with time. Also with this change has come greatly reduced energy and a stall in weight loss. Any thoughts?

A change in your ability to swallow is something you need to call your surgeon about. Now.

I agree. If you are concerned, then you should call your surgeon. It certainly seems atypical to for swallowing or eating to get harder the the further out from surgery you get. So worth a call to the surgeon.

I too am 6 weeks and suffered this very issue just last week.

Thanks to the advice of some people on here, I found out I was eating too fast, and not chewing well enough.

Once I started slowing down and really chewing, all symptoms went away and I'm back to eating with no problem at all.
