Just finished my first round of plastic surgery. I have an amazing nurse friend taking care of me. The plastic surgery team is the best in class. It was worth every penny and every minute I had to wait for it (my doc has an over year waiting list) and every bit of pain so far.

You are all worth the effort this part of our journey entails. Everyone should be given the chance to experience this.

Stats:

Pre VSG weight 350

Day of VSG 320

Pre plastic weight 200

I had a breast augmentation and extended Tummy Tuck. Here are some post TT and augmentation pics. I know how important this is to see by pre bariatric patients, post bariatric, during stalls, when you're feeling down from the excess skin. We are all capable of this. We are all worthy of this!!! Once I'm a week out and get my drain I will post another pic...I'll keep updating this topic! post-267230-14622493018352_thumb.jpg post-267230-14622493145375_thumb.jpg

What is the 'next' round for?

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

The next round will be my arms at some point. The last will be my thighs.

I'm doing really good. I'm up and walking every few hours. Tolerating my oral pain meds. Needed zofran a bit but I'm on strong pain meds. My friend is a rock star taking care of me. My doc did amazing and my recovery nurse was a saint.

It is amazing (and a little gross) to see what they removed. You have a great surgeon - excellent results!

I know those pics are graphic but plastics is no joke. Lol

I was so glad my surgeon didn't show me the skin or fat she removed. That definitely would have grossed me out! She didn't even tell me how much it weighed, but I did find that later in my paperwork post-op.

How many pounds was it?

It was 12 pounds of skin. I don't remember how much fat was lipo'd out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
