I'm 2 weeks post op, and feel like crap. I've been feeling like crap for 2-3 days, now. I've been consuming Protein, so I don't think that's the problem, here. I haven't had anything I'm not supposed to- I just don't know what to do. Could it be that I haven't taken my Vitamins? I ordered the Multivitamin patch, and I've been waiting for it to be delivered. I literally have just been so drained & nauseated.. I can't even drink Powerade zero- I can only tolerate Water now.

Could it be you caught some kind of virus/bug? There are many viruses going around right now, and it could be you picked one up. The only thing I can think of. If you are getting enough Protein and you are drinking fluids, I don't think the lack of Vitamins right now would cause nausea or exhaustion. Feel better.

How is your blood pressure ?

Closing in on the 3 week timeframe I was feeling like crap, too.

Found out my blood pressure was running ultra low.

I never thought about that! I'll definitely look into it! It would make sense- since our bodies are going through so much change in such a short time. Thanks!

It's possible- I do have 3 toddlers.. But I haven't been having telltale signs of having a virus. I'm hoping I'm just having a weird couple days & I can chalk it up as an adjustment lol

I made a change in my meds the very next day and it was a near immediate improvement.

My blood pressure crashed at about the same time (95/40). I actually was terrified and thought Something was horribly wrong with me. It was awful. Cut down to a fraction of my meds (under dr supervision of course) and felt 100% better within 48 hours.

Sorry you are feeling so bad @catjackson89 - I too am 2 weeks post-op and up until the last day or so have been feeling extremely ordinary too, but all is slowly resolving. When you say you feel like crap, what do you mean? Nausea? Tiredness, lightheaded?

I could definitely see that being a need for the vitamins! You should try and pick some up as soon as you can. My doc said to immediately after surgery take 2 daily if not bariatric specified, or 1 daily if they are. Also I've heard the Patches don't absorb well enough for most bariatric patients, so just heads up on that!

Hope you feel better!! I remember the first few weeks were legitimately miserable, and I just felt drained all the time! Good luck!

Two weeks post-op and haven't been taking Vitamins?

That's what I said. I ordered the Vitamin Patch a week ago, it just hasn't come in yet. I wasn't supposed to start taking them til day 11, anyway.. So I'm only a few days behind.

I was told in the hospital not to take Vitamins until instructed to do so.. And I wasn't told to do so until my appointment on my 10th day post op.

Every one is different with their instructions cat. I started my Vitamins one week post-op, or after my first one week appointment with the surgeon.

I hope you feel better soon.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
