Weight loss after sleeve

That's perfectly OK. Why wouldn't it be?

I lost 14 pounds my first month post-op.

If the scale is moving in the right direction, it's okay :)

Sometimes it's even okay if it's not.

The number is gong down but how many have had the surgery on 4-6-16 and how much have they lost I thought I would loose more than that but I guess not my Dr. Said that was fine.

Please take a deep breath. You asked a question and got great answers.

Please do not compare yourself to other people. You just had major surgery and are healing. You have lost weight, probably more than you would have on any diet, and your surgeon said you are doing fine.

None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience periodic stalls and you are due for your first stall. Almost everyone experiences their first stall about three weeks post-op.

Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, and exercise when cleared.

You are doing great.

Embrace the Stall

You really need to learn to NOT compare yourself with others. I mean that with love and care in my heart. As I tell my kids, there will always be someone richer/poorer, prettier/uglier, dumber/smarter, fatter/skinnier, taller/shorter than you.

Comparing yourself to a faster loser will be as difficult for you as whomever is currently comparing their 6,8,10 pound weight loss with your 13 pounds. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
