sherryk 54 Posted May 2, 2016 I'm one week post-op and only walk about 20 minutes a day. I get tired so fast. But at least I'm doing something, right? I do break it up. I get all my Protein and Water in. I'm hoping when I'm allowed to start my Vitamins I will regain my energy. Christinamo7 4,042 Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) you're doing just fine. at one week out I was walking 10-15 minutes every hour that I was awake, but VERY slowly. it helped me a lot to get up and move. Water, and Protein is all that you need to worry about at this point. Edited May 2, 2016 by Christinamo7
KristenLe 5,979 Posted May 2, 2016 @sherryk. One thing to consider if you are extremely tired is your blood pressure. If you are on meds for hypertension, they often need adjusting after WLS.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted May 2, 2016 I was exhausted after surgery and soooooo glad I am retired. My praise goes out to my bariatric siblings who have to go back to work or care for children. I could not have done it. Really, I did not get any energy back until I got on soft foods.
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted May 2, 2016 It's definitely important to get up and walk every hour or two, eve if it's only a couple of minutes at a time. You don't need to be doing any crazy level of physical activity at this point.
