Nope! 200+ lbs down and I could not be happier. I had an easy recovery and never had even a second of "buyer's remorse."

None. I couldn't be happier with my surgery experience, recovery, and progress so far.

It was my first surgery ever so I had no idea what to expect. The worst part of the whole experience was the pre-op uncertainty.

My advice? Do everything you are asked to do by your team (pre- and post-op) even if you think you can't or think it is silly. Everything you are asked to do is for your benefit and to minimize risks and complications.

Zero complications.

Very smooth process.

Would do it all over again without hesitation.

Weight loss has been steady and I'm grateful for it.

Nine months out and no complications. It's not easy, but the many advances you feel, both in weight loss and in life, make the difficulty worth it. You'll develop a new relationship with food and with yourself that takes some getting used to, but you get there. All in all, totally worth it and my only regret is that I did not do this sooner.

No complications but I slept almost the entire time in the hospital. I didn't get out of bed to walk until day 2. I was really sensitive to the anesthesia.

I have No regrets! I hit the 150s yesterday!! 56 lbs gone and I couldn't be happier

I'm 3.5 years out and my only "side-effect" is that I can't eat carrots. YAY!

pre & post op

gas

walking

there are always "possible" complications with any surgery :(

we are all "living" proof that surgery, outcome is great

some people are on the fence about having WLS

my advice is GO Forward with surgery

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
