Okay so I had my surgery 4/27 and i have a few concerns

1. It is really hard for me to get down the two Protein shakes eat my meals and do 64 oz of Fluid.. Half the time im not hungry at all im tired so I sleep I'll get up and do my walking and try to sip on something but I get too tired Idk what to do

2. It still hurts to swallow its like i got this bubble of gas stuck in my chest every time I have to burp the burp goes away I walk regularly and I use gas-x Idk why I'm having thus trouble

3. I'm having this like sharp burning pain under my incision on the left side closest to my belly button. Its like almost like on the surface and Idk if this is normal because the actually incision itself doesn't hurt and it hurts like if I try to move .. I'm worried . should I call the Dr

Please someone help me ????

Count your Protein shakes as part of your daily fluids. Dilute them if you have to. shakes made with Water or almond milk will be easier to swallow than shakes made with dairy milk.

Water was easier for me to drink if I cut it with some flavor like Crystal Light or a melted sugar free popsicle.

Call your doctor about any concerns

But early on for most people it is hard to get all the liquid in

My doctor advised me that I wouldn't be able to get in the 64 oz at first. They suggested 24 oz of Water plus my other Clear liquids and shakes would be more realistic this early. I was also sleeved on the 27th.

I haven't really had any gas issues...mainly because I have been burping excessively so I think it is just coming out before it becomes a big issue. LOL! Incisions are still a bit sore and I have one spot to the right of my belly button incision that is more sore but I think that I have been doing to much. I am going to rest this afternoon and see I that helps. The belly button incision is the biggest from my understanding so it stands to reason it might take longer to feel better I suppose.

I know my surgeons office is more than happy to answer any questions. You should call yours. Goo luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
