CSouth 3 Posted May 1, 2016 Hello, my surgery is this Friday, May 6th. I have been scared and nervous but not real excited yet. I do feel I have more energy after a week on the liver diet but it has been hard. I did cheat 2 times. Once I ate 2 boiled eggs and another I ate roast beef off of an Arby's sandwich. I have done great with Water. Trying to finish strong!! I got this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Jaypooh12 4 Posted May 6, 2016 I had the surgery about a year and a half now. I was very excited because I wanted and needed to have the surgery for medical reasons and I wanted to live a more healthier life. The day of my surgery I was all perky and ready, I prayed to God and surrendered it all to him. My husband was more nervous than I was. When my Pastor and First Lady came they said you are all smiles. I went in at 294 and I am currently at 174. I still have about 20 more lbs to go so back to a liquid diet and exercise. I went from a size 26 to 16. It is my goal to get to a 12-14. I say get excited it is a milestone to lose the weight. You will feel better and look better. At times when I walk I feel really light on my feet. The greatest reward from this is that I am no longer on all that medication anymore. Mane2016 16 Posted May 6, 2016 Hi CSouth. Good luck tomorrow. I'm scheduled for 5/10 and feel just like you do. Nervous/not real excited. I've also gone back and forth on the idea but as one of my greatest mentors once told me, " if you have a good reason, you've done your research, analyzed the situation and made an educated decision, stick to it." That's what I'm doing especially bcs I already paid in cash. Chin up. Spirits high and keep us posted. Best of luck. CSouth 3 Posted May 9, 2016 Well surgery is over and everything went well. I am still a little sore but it gets better each day. The tough part is getting my fluids in. Thanks to all for your support! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Mane2016 16 Posted May 14, 2016 I'm with you. I got sleeved on May 10th. I'm progressing well and didn't experience much pain but I'm also finding it difficult to get the Water and liquids in. The shakes take up all the space. I can't wait to get to the soft foods so I can make purées with different ingredients. At least I'll feel like I'm eating something. CSouth 3 Posted May 15, 2016 What shakes are you drinking? I tried Glucerna but it upsets my stomach. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted May 15, 2016 @@CSouth Glucerna doesn't have enough Protein compared to sugars/calories. I would go with a high protein / low sugar shake like Premier Protein or Muscle Milk 100.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted May 15, 2016 What shakes are you drinking? I tried Glucerna but it upsets my stomach. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App I would think with a name like Glucerna it would have way too much sugar.
