It also has a lot to do with how much weight you loose......The more you have to loose the more likely you'll have extra skin.....but at 20 years old you also have an advantage because your skin is more elastic than an older person......I think the answer is it depends......

I am 8 months out and 100 pounds down. I'm not quite to goal, but I've got quite a bit of loose skin. It bothers me, but not nearly as much as that extra 100 pounds did! I feel like I don't look good naked, but when I was obese I didn't look good naked either. At least now I look good with clothes on :)

@@Rebekah 136 at 20 years old - you have a better chance at limiting the amount of "sag". It depends on a lot of issues - age being one of them, genetics, how much weight to lose, how often you yo-yo'd and lost and gained, exercise, etc. Just enjoy the ride and deal with whatever sag you might have. :-) It's much better to have empty sagging skin than fat filled skin. I fully expect at my age and size that my already sagging boobs will have to be hoisted up to get into a bra once I lose weight! ;-)

I have to loose 99 pounds to get kind of close to my weight goal I'm not embarrassed to say I have to loose 120 to be at my total weight goal so I really hope I don't have to much

@@Rebekah 136 I bet you won't have a lot of loose skin - at 20 - it should still have alot of elasticity to it. It's great you're taking the opportunity to have surgery and change your life at your age. I feel like I wasted more than 20 years of my life being obese.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
