Or perhaps you own a home and can do an equity loan? Sorry I can not be of more help. Perhaps there are others on here that have been through the same thing and can be of more assistance. Hang in there.

marjon9 6 Posted August 26, 2007 This may not be much help, but I just want to mention that there are many different prices out there for lap band surgery. Most of the doctors in my area charge around $25,000. So I went out of my area and found a great doctor in Colorado for under $10,000 (see my signature for his web site). In addition, the docs in Mexico have a great reputation and they are around $8500. Don't mean to state the obvious, but it can be much easier to save/finance these smaller amounts. You folks may know all this already, but I just thought I'd throw it out there in case. Good luck.
kurvaesious 0 Posted September 18, 2008 Shy girl, Please don't give up. Anything that will make you feel better physically, mentally and emotionally is well worth the fight. It took me nearly three years to find financing. I was finally able to use my medicare benefits at Harper Hospital in Detroit on October 24, 2007. The funny thing is that within two months they were able to speed the procedure up. I just had to keep focused and "nudge" people when I was at my strongest emotionally. lucy1 0 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) Don't worry there are many ways to get finance for lap band surgery. you can go for some financial institute which help you so that whole cost of surgery can be broken down in low monthly payments. Hospitals are also ready to provide some finance to you. For that you have to ask to your surgeon about this.If your surgeon is enrolled in the finance program like INAMED Health’s Lap-Band Patient Finance Program then you can take help from there also. SuzanneG 1 Posted August 26, 2009 Did you say you were denied? What were the reasons? Have you considered an appeal? I had to appeal my insurance, I wrote two letters from me, and then went to each of my doctors, GYN, GP, podiatrist, gastrointerologist, etc. and asked for letters of support. I assembled them together and sent the package to my bariatric surgeon and they filed the appeal for me. I'd be happy to share my letters if you would like to see them as a template. If you want them, just PM me your email address and I'll send them to you. Doesn't cost anything to try. Keep us posted.
