Breast lift, no implants-where to begin?

I'm still losing weight, but at this rate by the time I hit one year post surgery I should be ready. I have always had very large breasts. I have worn cup sizes as high as H. My breasts have become so flat after losing almost 100 pounds. They are still large but they hang, and look like pancakes from the side. Plastic surgery was just not something that was accessible to me before, but this is been on my mind a lot lately. Terrifying as it seems, I feel that I really need and want my breasts lifted when I get to my goal weight of 175 pounds. Can anybody guide me on where to begin? I would love so much to hear stories of successful breast lifts from women who have lost a lot of weight and who had very large breasts when they were heavy. It's hard to imagine that they can do anything, but supposedly they can. Would you share your stories with me?

Well, I don't know how much help I can be, because I always had small breasts. Even at my heaviest, they only got up to a C. Once I lost weight they were sad, empty, droopy As. I had a breast lift with implants and it is simply a miraculous difference. My advice would be to just start by looking at before and after pictures on sites like RealSelf. Next you would want to set up consultations with surgeons in your area. Then you can start the process of actually picking a surgeon and decide if you want to look outside of your area or even outside of the country. I had my plastics in Mexico, but I know that's not for everyone.

Not just because it's more reasonably priced, but because what little bits and pieces I've heard about it it seems that the care in Mexico was better than in the United States-or rather, you get the care that you have to pay 100 grand for here for like 10 K. How was it down there? Matt ask for more information about where it went and who your doctor was? If it's too personal I completely understand. Thank you so much for commenting.

Not sure I really have any advice but thought I would share my experience thus far. I was always a C - a 46C for a long time and considered myself not overly endowed. When I lost and my band size went down, my cup size went up (most people already knew that - I did not). I am now in a 36DDD or 38DD BUT I also use what I like to refer to as "chicken cutlets" to boost the girls up a bit and try and fill in the cup. I don't fill the cup completely which is frustrating, but smaller cups definitely don't work either. I went to a Plunge (Push up from the outer edges) kind of bra and that really seems to help enhance. The balconette and demi bras I wore before (or full coverage) do not work at all. There is way too much gap at the top of the cup. Mostly I am all ribs (or breast bones - whatever you call that).

I have a consultation with a plastic surgeon this month (May 20) and specifically want to talk about doing a lift without implants. I am not completely opposed to implants but I prefer to go without if I can just mostly because I do not want to have to have them redone in the future (which I understand is something that has to be done occasionally to replace the implants during your lifetime). I was a 40G cup. I asked about a lift and he said what I needed was a reduction

I then said I wanted to be a B cup - He said that would not be possible due to the huge breasts I had (Something to do with the skin circle - I forget)

Anyways - I had the reduction and straight after I was a 34D with the swelling (No pain at all)

Then a year later I was a 34C

Now - After all swelling gone and a little bit of weight loss I am a 34B - And I am very happy with that - As the huuuuuge boobs I had were so heavy and annoying and looked gross.

I am soooooooooooooo happy with them now - I guess you will have to talk to your surgeon and ask what he thinks you should do

Like - Do you want small boobs like I did or would you prefer to have a lift and implants?

I am sure when you have seen a surgeon and made your choice you will find your new boobs fannnntastical :-)

Not just because it's more reasonably priced, but because what little bits and pieces I've heard about it it seems that the care in Mexico was better than in the United States-or rather, you get the care that you have to pay 100 grand for here for like 10 K. Post-op care in Mexico can be fantastic, as long as you make a good choice of surgeon and recovery facility. When I went for my TT and breast lift with augmentation, I stayed for 2 full weeks post-op in a recovery house where I had 24/7 nursing care, all my meals prepared for me (made all my food specific to me... had given them a huge list of foods I wouldn't eat), had all sorts of equipment to make my life easier (motorized hospital bed, walker, raised toilet seats with handles...), and my surgeon came and checked on me every single day. Had I had the same surgery in the US, I would have been discharged to fend for myself one day post-op and had to be driven to see my surgeon maybe once or twice those first two weeks? I can't imagine relying on my husband or family to care for me in those early days post-op. I couldn't even use the bathroom by myself!

Now, if you are only having breast lift done, the recover is MUCH less intense, so you might not need so much aftercare. I had already discussed with my husband that I might consider staying in the US if all I was having is breast work or an arm lift. But anything like a lower body lift, Tummy Tuck, or thigh lift, I would definitely want the round-the-clock care you receive in Mexico.

Thank you so much. That is so helpful! I may eventually get a Tummy tuck about I don't think I would do them both at the same time. I think I'm going to just start with just the boobs-which from the look of post op pictures on the Internet of the lollipop and anchor cut looks pretty awful to survive as it is! I cannot imagine the pain of having all that work done at one time.

I think I'm going to just get a lift with no implants. But honestly I really don't want them. Implants, that is. I'm almost 40; I don't need the boobs of a 20-year-old. But I do want the longness to go away. And whatever size they end up being after weight loss and lifting, that's fine with me. Although I can't imagine them being less than a D even when I'm done losing weight. I've always liked having big breasts; and I don't think they would bother me at all if they were big and perkier. But they're uncomfortable in current state.

Interesting side note - I was at my ob/gyn this week and she had breast cancer and complete reconstruction. So I was asking her if a) she thought I could get away with just a lift and if my very lumpy (fibrocystic breast tissue) would prevent me from getting implants. Answer to both was no. She also said to get silicone (not saline die to risks of leaks) and to be firm with the Dr on size. She said most all surgeons want to do larger breasts. She said she came out of her surgery and asked how many cc's he put in and she told him to take put half! Now she is pretty petite and now has very small breasts but she was fine with it. Anxiously awaiting my PS consultation on the 20th to see what he says. I know my ob/gyn is not a PS but since she lived through the reconstruction, I thought it was an interesting take on the subject.

I also have very lumpy breasts - It is nice to know of someone else who has this.

Though it did not interfere with my breast reduction in any way at all....

@@Scamp - Thanks! Good to know! I have had 2 needle biopsies in the past and all has just come back benign. But my maternal grandmother and maternal aunt both had breast cancer so I am always a little worried about it.

@@Daisee68 I'm glad I trusted my surgeon on implant size. She really picked out a size that looked natural and best-suited my frame. But I suppose it depends on the surgeon on whether or not you want to trust them on that decision.

Wow - I have also had two biopsies over the years- They were both fine also, Thank Goodness.

My Mother has had Breast Cancer twice, once on each side - Which also worries me. But I hope I won't hafta go through that and my mother will not hafta go through it again as if it returned she would have to have Mastectomy.

Boobs are such a worry!
