Hey everyone! Its my first time posting so bare with me..... I'm 3 weeks post op and experiencing a stall. I haven't lost anything in a week. From reading previous post I see that this is normal. Does anyone know exactly why? And how long does it typically last?

My exercise physiologist told me to stop weighing myself because I'll drive myself crazy... She said pick one day a month and do it then (I chose my surgery date every month). Everyone's body processes the trauma differently. Trust that the surgery is working and doing what your body needs.

Thank u that's a great idea! I'm gonna do that, just weigh once a month......I'm tired of stressing over the numbers.....

Not to be too personal, but how are your bowel movements? When I've stalled there was always a direct correlation to that...

When I addressed that, weight and other "things" started moving, too.

My best,

Daniel

My hint would be to weigh yourself once a week or so. For days you think you're not losing anything, then suddenly bam, 2 pounds comes off. Save your sanity lol

I have kept a record of my weight since my surgery in June 2015. I checked my week 3 last year and I too, had a stall. You may see another stall in weeks 6, 12 and 16. Please don't get discouraged. Stalls will happen and they don't make any sense. Your body has its own schedule. Most stalls are followed by a big drop the next week so hang in there! All you need to do right now is exactly follow everything your doctor has told you to do. It will all work out just fine.

@@CharlotteKat that is exactly what I'm going through again, I am in my 7th week and stalled for over a week again. It's driving me crazy but I'll wait it out

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
