I've never heard of coconut coffee -- but this is a question for your surgical team, they are the ones who can tell you which food and drinks are and are not approved.

It must be coconut flavored coffee??? What phase of your diet are you on? I agree with @@Bufflehead, the best way to find out is to call your bariatric team before you do it.

We ( my surgical group) can coffee but needs to be decaf...and still need to adhere to single digits for sugar...remember your body needs the liquids and caffeine is a natural diaretic

I drink my coffee every day--with the approval of my bariatric team.

However, for every cup of coffee I drink, I have to drink an equal amount of Water.

Call your "team". Working with them will lead you to the right answers for your program.

Best of luck!

With approval from my surgeon and NUT, I drink 2 scoops of my Protein Powder mixed with my Decaf coffee in the morning. It gets me going and gives me 50gms of Protein to start my day! (For this purpose,I choose cinnamon bun flavored protein) then I usually eat as normal (low carb-high protein) or sip on an Isopure throughout the day. I'm 8 months out and 127 lbs down! Good luck

Didn't they give you a handbook? I was given a huge binder just for dietary needs, how to introduce new foods, when, what is or isn't allowed, and spreadsheets of typical Bariatric foods, nutritional values, amount to be consumed and on and on. It literally is my bible.

As for coffee- we are allowed a cup of real coffee daily after 6 weeks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
