blondie311 1 Posted April 29, 2016 Ok I'm a complete failure and don't know what to do or what my options are. In 2013 I had the sleeve I lost 80 plus pounds but I stopped losing and I had more I needed to lose. So in 2015 I went in and had my sleeve revised to the gastric bypass. I only lost twenty pounds in a year. I'm so frustrated so I kinda gave up and went back to my bad habits. I weighed and I'm starting to gain my weight back I'm scared and don't want to gain it back so I did the 5 day pouch test and it didn't do anything. I don't get sick with anything and no longer have any restriction. I am hoping that there is something I can do. Any ideas or suggestions I would really appreciate it. helenpgh 81 Posted April 29, 2016 You are certainly not a failure! You lost 100 pounds and made a huge difference to your health. Stop beating yourself up. This is not a race. It is your health and your life. Have you seen your doctor to see if there is a medical reason for the slow loss? Are you tracking your intake? Review what motivated you to have the surgery. Just a few ideas. You should feel extremely proud of what you have accomplished so far.
KristenLe 5,979 Posted April 29, 2016 Have some blood work done to make sure there's nothing going on that would hinder weight loss (thyroid). 100lbs lost is amazing so be proud of that loss. Focus on the positive and stay strong - don't fall into the failure trap - that's what we used to do. You know that if there's weight to be lost - you can do it - you've already proven that! kaitlynm 335 Posted April 30, 2016 Are you working out? Cardio and strength building exercises may help get you started again. Also how is your Protein intake? Do you get around 100 grams per day or at least 50% of your calories coming from protein.
blondie311 1 Posted April 30, 2016 Thank you all for replying I was having some issues with my stomach for about six of those months after I got the bypass so a surgeon did a scope and said my stomach was in pretty bad shape (well his actual words were it looks like shit) so I am now diagnosed with severe gastritis on top of the severe reflux that I've already had. So it's been a struggle. They don't seem to know why I've only lost twenty pounds since my revision. My surgeon is in Mexico so I've just been following up with my family dr she's ran blood test and some of my Vitamins came back low so I'm on injections and supplements for those now. I don't get a lot of Protein in maybe 60-70 grams how do you guys get so much in? Thanks for your suggestions and input. If I get back on the right track do you think I'll start losing again? kaitlynm 335 Posted May 1, 2016 I find you can add unflavored Protein Powder to just about anything. My favorite right now is Peanut Butter ice cream with PB2 powder and frozen fruit yogurts. Both have 22 grams of Protein per serving. The ice cream has more fat and less carbs. I even made some home made dog treats the other day and found myself adding protein powder to those. Yesiberetta 0 Posted May 3, 2016 You need to get to a meeting. Bariatric support meeting or overeaters anonymous meeting. Anything. Do NOT do this alone. Find support. Also, I recommend you following up with a bariatric dietitian. I fear you haven't been taught how to get your nutrition and Vitamins in. blondie311 1 Posted May 3, 2016 Where would I find info about a bariatric dietician? I know we don't have anything like that where I live. I live in a really small town
