I have been sick a lot. I was positive for the H. Pylori bacteria that grows in your stomach so that's been had me sick a lot. It has its days.... sometimes I feel good. Sometimes I want to break down and cry.

Oh you poor thing! I had that a few years ago and it lasted a long time. Terrible. I hope you are cured of it very soon and be kind to your poor tummy. How awful to have had bariatric surgery and then have H. Pylori!

Feel better real soon. Have they talked to you about taking a probiotic? I highly recommend. I've been on them for years now and they are a Godsend!

Good job! I'm 4 weeks out. I lost 19lbs the first 2 weeks and I seem to have stalled. I've literally lost nothing the last 2 weeks since I started on soft foods. Any suggestions on how to get it started again? I feel like I'm behind and did this all for nothing. I started at 233 and I'm now at 214. I get all of my Protein in and workout in the evenings walking, riding my bike and lift small weights.

I feel the same way! But, in reading many of the posts here prior to surgery I know that there are stalls along the way. Many of the people have said to just keep doing what you know is right and follow the plan. You will get over the stall and suddenly begin losing weight again.

Just keep doing what you are doing. That's all we can do at this point right?

I stalled at 2 weeks and I had to take a deulcolax to jump start it again.

If you are going to do a probiotic again, might I suggest the Walmart Brand Equate? It is the same as Align but about $20 cheaper. I just purchased 42 pills for just under $25.00. That is the cheapest I've found and it works wonderful.

I think I just had a stall between week 2 and week 3, but fortunately I didn't need dolcolax to jump start it again. My body was able to do that all on its own (I credit the probiotic).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
