I had vsg 8/3/2015, down 92lbs, love my sleeve. since the sleeve i had a total knee replacement in December, horrible surgery, still in therapy. anyway the knees being so painful was one of the reasons i did the sleeve. i was not going to put 268lbs on new knees. my left knee is work related and i do not feel ready to do that one yet, so today i had my second carpal tunnel decompression, being the left was done in 2014, just trying to get healthy and painfree. I had this surgery done at the same surgery center as i had the left one done. The nurse kept looking at me and she said you have lost 100lbs, and showed me in 2014 i weighed 277lbs. Wow i gotta tell you that felt so good to see that. i also was a little upset that it embarrassed me that i had let myself get that overweight, anyone else ever feel that way. The weightloss has slowed, but i would still like to lose another 25lbs, just keep trying. thanks for listening, oh and i can cross my legs now and be comfortable.

!Great job!

Knee replacements are the most painful surgery of record. ( FYI) They are the stuff of nightmares, aren't they? But after therapy, it is soooo wonderful to have a knee that doesn't hurt. I know I don't regret my knee replacement one single bit, but --OUCH!

Keep up the super good work, my friend.

What a journey. And what a victory!

And to be recovering from two additional surgeries and working toward a third. That is some serious effort!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
